If you go to the Oculus blog and have a look at the renders for the CV1, we see a glimpse of the optics in one of the rendered images, and to me, it looks like they have completely changed the optics, possibly to a fresnel system, which is larger and flatter and should give a wider field of view, and more easily accommodate people that wear corrective glasses.
