Click here to visit a donation kiosk in Second Life to support the victims of last weekend's horrific terrorist/homophobic attack on the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. It's hosted by Casper Warden, a well-known SL content creator, who will convert all donations into real US dollars and donate the contributions to the official GoFundMe Pulse Victims Fund page for Equality Florida.
"I’ve been a long-time supporter of various LGBT causes, including within Second Life (Second Pride and such)," Casper tells me. "The recent abomination that occurred in Orlando absolutely sickened me, and I wanted to do what I could to help out." After setting up the donation kiosk this morning, Casper's already collected over L$200,000 (around USD$800).
As it happens, I first heard about this donation drive from well-known SL blogger Strawberry Singh, who lives in Orlando, happens to be a Muslim-American, and has a poignant post reflecting on her perspective being so close to the terror attack:

It’s very heartbreaking to see my Sunshine State, the place that brings happiness and joy to so many, be enveloped in mourning. Hate and extremism can be dangerous and dividing, I wish people would see that. I wish one day I would open my eyes and the world would be completely tolerant and non-judgmental. I wish we all could just live and let live.
Click here to donate, and if you know of other events, memorials, and donation drives in SL, please post info in Comments.
