What I don't understand here is how VR headsets like the Vive and the Rift are often being counted in the same statistics as the mobile based devices such as Google cardboard etc to give an overall VR usage figure. If it were possible to get exactly the same experience on a Google cardboard as with a Vive then who would ever buy a Vive.
As far as I am aware there is little comparison. If the difference is significant then it is misleading to
publish numbers that attempt to show how we are all getting into VR when in reality most people are not doing much more than watching VR movies.

People are using VR for porn. If PornHub ever develops a headset, it would be the most advanced and cheapest option.

Good points. Now if there was a TM themed app it might make even a cardboard user more 'involved' :)
