I told you about the The IOL Camera Panoramic which can turn 360 degree panoramic photos of Second Life sims into little planets, now via Lalwende Leakey and Erythro Asimov, here's that same tech turning a sim into a little planet machinima. (In this case, MetaLES by Igor Ballyhoo.)

Thanks for sharing,
We will post a detailed tutorial of the technics we used, Lalwende Leakey is about to realease an update of her tools in coming days with all HUD and scripts available.
In short words, here is how was made.
We used two computers and seven avatars to shots this one
PC #1 for piloting the camera
PC #2 for recording six different shots, the purpose is to render at same time the 6 faces of a virtual cube.
On the PC #1 The piloting camera avatar is wearing a piloting HUD that is sending coordinates of camera to the six other viewers
On the PC #2 We use six differents viewers
Avatars are wearing the slave HUD that is receiving the camera coordinates.
Viewer size, and Camera angle are set to specific values
A single video is recorded from that six viewers using xsplit
Then with script we created
1) We extract the everyframes of video recorded
2) For each frames :
We build the images of the 6 different cubes and stitch with hugin the six cube faces into a single equirectangular image for each frame
3) We assemble all the frames back together into a new video file.
30 hours of calculus were needed to create 38,000 files / 100 Gb for those two video.
The little planet was made using insta360 studio
What is unique into this technic, compared to previous SL 360° experimentation made, is that we have a moving camera, and we only use software that are freely available.
