Asia Ristow has a good and thorough introduction to Second Life-based gacha machines, including related resources like the Seraphim HUD listing gacha events.
Considering how big they are for driving the in-world economy, it's kind of odd Linden Lab doesn't put much focus on promoting them, or even better, integrating them more prominently into the official viewer.
