Real Life Opera Singer Performs Over Second Life Machinima

This is a uniquely beautiful SL machinima from Cassie Middles, not just for its swooping camerawork, its wonderful use of focus effects and its dynamic lighting/shadow, but also because of Cassie herself -- in real life she's a veteran opera singer, and she sings into her mic while moving around her avatar. "I sang in an opera company when I was ten until I was about thirteen, including in being in shows like The Magic Flute and A Christmas Carol," she tells me. "Broadway style music is my favorite because of it, especially operettas."

She was with a renowned company on the East Coast, but didn't actually join Second Life to perform live in-world: "I found SL when wanting to find a better Harry Potter role play sim than just HPRPG," as she puts it. (Her full SL name: CassandraMiddles Resident.)
