Click to transport to Fran's February 18th birthday bash in Second Life between 3-9pm Pacific
Tomorrow (Saturday, 2/18) there's going to be a Second Life-based celebration/real world fundraiser for Fran Seranade, recently featured in WIRED's Backchannel for a very good reason: Using Second Life has helped her recover from symptoms of her Parkinson's, and she's worked with her family to create an SL-based community for other people with Parkinson's. Which is why the birthday party is also a fundraiser, with Linden Dollars converted into real cash that'll go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
And, oh yeah: FRAN IS TURNING NINETY. (Which quite possibly makes her the most senior of all SL users.) If you're lucky, you may even get a chance to dance with Fran. (If you can keep up with her, but you probably can't).
