Here's the results of last week's reader survey on Linden Lab joining the tech industry's amicus brief against Trump's Muslim refugee ban: With nearly 200 readers* registering their opinion (a large sample for this blog), 63% of you now have a more positive view of the company for standing up to Trump. By contrast, only 20% of you have a more negative view for Linden Lab's stand, with nearly as many people (17%) expressing indifference either way. Hundreds of tech companies have signed ont o the amicus brief, including Apple, Facebook, and Tesla, but this might be the first survey of these companies' customers. At least in Linden Lab's case, they're overwhelmingly positive.
On the other hand, 20% is not a small amount:
If every single one of those people upset at Linden Lab's anti-Trump stance stopped paying the company as much money as they usually go -- giving up their virtual land or monthly subscriptions, for instance -- the Lindens would definitely feel the pinch. Then again, only a minority out of a minority are likely to change their customer behavior over any one issue, and their drop in payments would probably be cancelled out by the minority of the majority likely to give Linden Lab more money as a way of expressing gratitude.
* And yes, since open web-based polls are easy to game, I'm using the expression "200 readers" somewhat loosely -- however, through the duration of the survey, the overall results of the survey didn't change much in either direction. So I think the survey is a generally fair depiction of reader opinion. Compare, for instance, with this November 2016 election survey, where 62% of readers said they support Hillary, versus 22% for Trump.

Your website has potentially dangerous or suspicious content. McAfee Advisor warns users and blocks content from your page. Something you may want to look into if you want people to read your posts. :-(

You write as if these 200 reflect the position of all of the SL users, that this survey is proportional.
Do you have any evidence that is true?

I'm satisfied that the author of the poll sufficiently made several points in the article to clarify that this is a limited blog reader poll, not a poll of the general LL and Sansar user population.
However, an easy adjustment would be to have the headline tags end with ":Reader Survey". :)

I so regret not posting my prediction that a majority being in favour in the thread where we discussed the possibility to answer multiple times to the survey - I had my chance of looking like a prophet and I missed it :(

Couple of points:
never had any 'wah bad content' warning here but then - McAfee 'nuff said.
Was pointed out in original that poll was erm multi-entrant and noted above.
Results seem to roughly reflect the responses over on the official blog thingy which is also a bit self selecting. Never stated anywhere that this was indicative of all SLers (nor, for that matter, if respondents were in fact SLers at all, either current or disgruntled).
