She's fun, she's passionate and knowledgable about VR, she's got a great, engaging voice that animates her avatar: Michelle Osorio (@michellekenobi on Twitter, because of course) gives regular group tours of High Fidelity which are then streamed live to High Fidelity's Twitch and YouTube channel. Last I saw, she was showing off some AI-powered fireflies created in HiFi. If you don't have a full VR rig like 99.9% of the population, this is probably the best way to get a glimpse at what's being built in the leading social VR platform.
I'm hosting @highfidelityinc again today LIVE! Come visit in-world or watch on Twitch or YouTube. https://t.co/H2xyT7uuXp #livestream #VR https://t.co/XmEqIdwjvd

There's the problem with where High Fidelity is. I absolutely love what they are doing but it's miles from mainstream, they have just upped their minimum Windows specs to an Intel I7. They are high end gaming, which is probably where they need to be in terms of being able to demonstrate VR, but it's not the consumer market.

Michells's got a bubbly, personable, nature and voice - great for presenting something new, but the whole thing just doesn't appeal to me. It all looks so blocky, undeveloped and rough (mesh, anyone?).
Not my cuppa tea at all.
I guess I'm just not getting what the fascination is - vs - what SL already offers.
