Update to yesterday's post citing Kotaku that Sansar may have a subscription fee for access -- Linden Lab spokesman Peter Gray posted a clarification in Comments:
You will be able to access Sansar for free. There will also be subscription packages available, and the details of those offerings and pricing will be announced at the opening of creator beta this Summer
Kinda surprised Linden Lab didn't clarify this when they talked to Kotaku for the hands-on demo, but there it is. Anyway, if you're in New York this weekend (and don't you wish you were?) you can get a hands-on demo for yourself, at least for Sansar's NASA co-created project.
"Anyway, if you're in New York this weekend (and don't you wish you were?)"
I am, although I'll pass. Too many things to do that don't involve goggles. Or virtual reality. Or a computer monitor. Call it low tech. Call it life.

I didn't think it was going to primarily be a subscription model. At least I'll be able to check it out some day.

It is also possible LL might have been originally misquoted by Kotaku. If you check, Cecilia has now corrected her original article's statement to: 'Users may access it for free, or with a subscription package' but without providing a correction/update disclaimer.

Some of you might not get the double-irony in that.
In actuality, it's Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
But in regards to LL, most of you here are getting fooled every time.

Can someone tell Linden Lab that it's summer now! I wonder if their idea of summer is September. Or maybe next year.
Wonder what they will be offering with the subscription package. There would have to be some decent bait.
