Results from our survey of subscription services for Second Life users last week: With 66 responses, far and away the most preferred is Luxe Box, a collection of top brand fashion items for female avatars. Unsurprisingly, Luxe Box has a strong online/social presence, and even has a stylish real world brand promotion video (see below). Somewhat surprising (at least to me) is the second favorite (over and above other avatar fashion subscription offerings, mostly), is Deco(c)rate, offering virtual home decor items.
That said, the survey only attracted 66 responses, whereas a typical response rate on this blog runs between 200-500 -- strongly suggesting most SLers don't have a strong preference/interest in any subscription service.
I've done the Luxe subscription about twice, maybe three times. It's a pain and it depends on the styles you like. In one box, every single item could be wonderful. Or there could be a month where nothing appeals and it is a waste of Lindens.

I don't see Swag Bag or Bish Box.

I stupidly bought a few of these things. Never again. The contents are largely awful with only, if you are lucky, one good item you might use. Sadly, people are being ripped off so badly by them they try to justify it to themselves by liking a few things that they never would have bought otherwise.
Ask yourself this, if the contests were any good, what is the reason for jacking the price up 40% after you know what's inside? They are taking advantage of the few people that find something they really want after the fact, then try to get them hooked on the cheaper subscription model, hoping there might be something good every month when often there isn't.
If you are fooling yourself into thinking these are good, take a long hard look at how many items you actually use compared to how much you spent.

I use Aesthetic body, all the boxes are useless to me.
