Star SL YouTuber Cassie Middles created a Second Life dating game which she hosts and records live in front of a studio audience (both in SL and on YouTube Live), which is a great idea all around. Especially because, as you'd expect with Second Life's unreliable server architecture and social penchant for drama, the whole thing rapidly goes sideways -- ably encouraged by the male contestant, "Rugged", who is apparently drunk but definitely douchey, and who ends the show floating around as a disembodied head. (There's a lesson in there.)
"I was snorting with laughter the whole time," Cassie tells me, "even when I thought I muted my mic... I think everyone got a bit rowdy by the end of the show. They were all shouting my name and calling me SL Jerry Springer. I don't like drama and avoid it, so I won't be doing any shows surrounding Jerry-themed scripts, but it was funny and crazy to see all the rowdiness."
Funnily enough, she doesn't even remember where the idea for a dating game came from:
"I was working on a list of ideas I wanted to do for my show and that was one of them. It seemed funny and I honestly didn't think anyone would want to watch it but they did." After all, she adds, "It's Second Life, we're already a pretty much blind dating game behind our pixels."
Well, the whole "She Stole My Man" "He's Cheating With My Sister" type shows - WOULD be funny.

Pooky Asterdam's POOKY MEDIA did a great long-running SL game show, the DATING CASINO. I even won a date in one to a lovely tropical resort http://www.thedatingcasino.com/ It played on treet.tv.

The douchey guy ends up having his head flying through the air at the end of the show?
Yeah, I keep thinking SL is still very much matriarchal. xD
