Lumiya, the popular SL viewer for Android devices, now supports Bento-based technology and its complex, highly articulated avatars for Second Life. (Well, not right "now", as creator Alina Lyvette added this update some months ago, but I'm blogging it now.) This is on top of a major UI update last year, meaning if you haven't tried out Lumiya yet and you own an Android, what the hell are you waiting for? Then again, seeing as Lumiya has been purchased nearly 100,000 times (according to Google Play), what the hell is Linden Lab waiting for to offer to buy Lumiya outright from Alina Lyvette?
Speaking of which, Ms. Lyvette is an LGBT developer based in Russia, and presciently talked about living under Putin's regime in 2014:
"Putin's brainwashing machine is going full steam ahead - with all the usual tools which would make Dr. Goebbels happy, like using fake imagery and staged video in the news, thoroughly mixed with outright lies and hysteria - unsurprisingly, leading to the skyrocketing figures of Mr. Putin's ratings (86% last time if I'm not mistaken, and I'm rather surprised that it's not 99%. From these figures, one can easily derive that 14% of the local population doesn't watch TV)."
Three years later, we're all dealing with Putin's brainwashing machine. Read more here.
