This is so cool: Alisaundra Andel and the HarshLands community in Second Life have re-imagined The Twelve Terrors of Christmas, written by John Updike and illustrated by Edward Gorey, as scenes in Second Life. It's perfect reading over the holidays:

I just hope John Updike and his lawyers have a sense of humor about fan art repackaged with his writing. The SL recreations of Gorey's art, by the way, are not literal translations, but evocative allusions -- here's a couple side by side comparisons:
