What you're looking at above is a new VR experience in Linden Lab's Sansar, part of Intel's virtual CES booth, which is a social VR recreation of the tradeshow happening in Vegas right now; it includes a recreated set from Steven Spielberg's upcoming movie adaptation of Ready Player One:
"Sansar Studios has spent the last several months working closely with Intel, Vive and Warner Brothers to create an interpretation of Aech's Garage from the original Industrial Light and Magic design for Spielberg's Ready Player One," Linden Lab's Sheri Bryant tells me. "[It's] inspired by the virtual universe of the OASIS in 2045, Aechs’ Garage represents the culmination of VR as it exists in the year 2018." If you have a Sansar account, go here to visit it for yourself.
Sheri's e-mailing me from the Intel CES booth, helping show off the VR version to CES attendees. "Steady lines and smiles since we opened!", she reports.
Folks at Linden Lab are probably smiling just as much:

Not only is this a Sansar partnership with Intel and Vive, but is part of the official promotion of Spielberg's film -- by far the biggest, most mass market depiction of VR and the metaverse.
Thanks for the shout-out!

Seeing the Lab partner with key companies for Sansar gives me hope. It is good to see that they realize to have a top shelf product they need help. This is especially key with the Marvelous Designer integration. I think Sansar is going to come out on top in the next gen VR VW race.

It will be interesting to see how this is embraced. We're living in very strange times, indeed. There is an obvious push from the powers above in politics, media, and entertainment to to open our minds to all things that are unreal. There's also a very obvious push-back from the little people whose pockets have been picked and are not-so-willing to let their minds be picked as well. Has your world been turned upside-down? VR is just the corrective lenses you need.
