The hints we heard last February turn out to be true: Sansar is adding more official Ready Player One tie-in content, with this new scene inspired by the book and movie, Aech's Basement, now available in the social VR platform's Atlas directory. (Aech's Garage was launched last January.) It comes complete with a vocal recording from Lena Waithe, the actor who plays Aech, and like the book, it's a nostalgia trip through 80's era geek culture.
Speaking of the book, this is actually the second version of Aech's Basement that's being hosted on Linden Lab's server: Back in 2012, with author Ernest Cline's approval, fans created a version of the basement in Second Life. (Cline visited SL as part of his research for Ready Player One.) Sad to say, the SL version doesn't seem to be there any longer.
Couple questions about these Sansar locations:
I'm curious why these sets from the movie are the ones being recreated, and not others. Wouldn't you want to stage, say, the gravity-free race course or nightclub, rather than these quiet, static locations? (Then again, those may be coming soon.) I'm even more curious how much new user traffic this drives to Sansar -- something we should know in a month or two!
Oh Golly gee really!!??!!
I can't wait to...umm..to..um..build my own Iron Giant! Oh wait, can't do that? Then I will...I will..uh...listen to Van Halen while I imagine building the Iron Giant! That's it!! yay Ebbe!

Sansar and Second Life are great at making "scenes" and playing dressup and taking a picture on just the right sex bed in just the right light.
Too bad they completely suck at following through on anything or building real virtual worlds.
