It's a nice stream of pretty virtual world images and short video clips, which is nice, but also raises some questions:
When will Second Life get an official mobile client? Because especially for Instagram, it would be ideal to go immediately from that mobile app right into SL for smartphones. An indie developer already made an unofficial SL app for Android phones, and it has customers in the six figures.
Also:
Shouldn't social media be used to make Second Life more, you know, social? Right now all SL's official social media channels seem targeted at existing users who already have an account and the client installed. Seems like there's a great opportunity to also create video/picture-based starter tutorials that users can can share with their friends as a way to entice them to join.
One of the joys of having a bit of a crap box is that F'ing FireFox (yes 3 'f's always) refuses to show any instagram stuff. There is a fix but oh my never felt the need to bother.
An official mobile client - but why? If the Lab wanted one they would have simply made an offer.
