Sansar's official Ready Player One tie-ins may not have increased visits to Sansar the VR platform, but that's not too say visits to Sansar haven't been increasing overall. In fact, according to SimilarWeb, traffic has been going up, by about 20,000 visits per month, for the last three months: 120,000 in February, to 160,000 in April. By point of comparison, Sansar's top social VR competitor, VRChat, has largely been losing visits in roughly the same time frame -- from a high of 2 million monthly visits in January, down to 540,000 last month.
Sansar just announced partnerships with a top game streamer and teams from an Overwatch league, so let's see if they help drive more growth. Of course, Sansar and even VRChat traffic are still tiny compared to last generation's top social VR platform, i.e. Second Life -- look:
