This charmingly cheesy video from Caitlyn and another High Fidelity team member is worth watching for its cornball comedy featuring sawed off shotguns and chainsaws, and its effective demonstration of HiFi's pretty impressive merging of full-body motion capture and photorealistic avatars.
And also, for this reveal: There's now an unofficial High Fidelity to Discord chat bridge, so avatars in HiFi can talk with folks on the virtual world's unofficial Slack channel. I.E., a good way to interact with people in High Fidelity without having to clamber into a full VR rig or launch its heavy client.
Good looking avatars, live facial expressions, great interaction and object manipulation, cross-platform... They have all the pretty and cool stuff that someone wished, but it's really a desert island.

Agree that the avatars are impressive. It's a crying shame that all of this VR advancement feels like it's chopped up and spread out in what looks like inevitable individual dead ends.
If only we could take some of the level-headed spirit and willingness to please from Sinespace, throw in the quirky coolness and playfulness of High Fidelity, and funnel it to the community and resources available to Sansar, we might have something with a future.
