Boundless launched this past week. If it is not a metaverse it is close. It is a good looking, G-rated, voxel based sandbox game in which all players are in one universe filled with large planets having different characteristics. Being a voxel game the environment is completely changeable by the players. Despite its still primitive guild and social mechanics, themed communities are being formed. Everything including the planetary portals is player made and supported although outside of builds what can be sold is defined by the game developers. A player run economy has developed. It reminds me a lot of Second Life soon after it opened but with a bit more direction for game-play. Its website is http://playboundless.com
