Quick update to Monday's story that VRChat is now boasting 10,000+ daily peak concurrent users. The most noteworthy stat reported by VRChat is how daily users are logging in with a VR headset. Some experts have estimated that only 5-10% VRChat users are actually wearing HMDs -- but VRChat reports that it's nearly 1 in 3 daily users, 30%. Since daily peak concurrency is 10,000+, that suggests about 40,000-100,000 VRChat daily users in HMD rigs.
Which is crazy big. That strongly suggests VRChat is the most used game among VR headset owners.(By contrast, single-player VR hit Beat Saber is currently getting daily peaks of 4000+, i.e. about 16-40K DAU.) In other words, VRChat is likely the most used VR game on the market.
The other noteworthy point from these stats is how many total people regularly use VRChat:

I missed the tweet from a couple weeks ago, when VRChat announced 4 million "users" and 4 million "avatars created". In other words, VRChat has 4 million user-created registered accounts. Which is a really impressive number! However, just to be clear, this is not the same as the amount of people currently using VRChat -- since after all, it's been live for two years and as a free virtual world, many people will create an account, look around, and churn out.
In terms of VRChat's monthly active users (MAU), that's going to be a multiple of the peak concurrency. As I speculated, MAU is probably in the 100,000-250,000 range. Or, if you use the algorithm proposed by a developer at Rec Room which suggests that that social VR world has 30,000-50,000 MAU, VRChat might have as many as 1 million MAU. But given the concurrency rates and VRChat participation on Discord, I think low six figures MAU is still a safer estimate.
I've checked with VRChat on these stats and my interpretation of them and will update this post if I get any reply. In any case, based on Steam stats, it looks like VRChat is VR's market leader. And since only 720,000 or so people on Steam have a VR headset, a large percent of them are regularly in VRChat.

Keep in mind, Steam isn't the only way to access VRChat. It's also listed on Oculus Store, and Viveport.
