Here's a story by Waisting. Many eons ago when I was still kind of new to SL, I somehow let some dude talk me into visiting his house, probably because I was bored.....or because I lowkey wanted to see how long I could get away with squatting in one of his closets or a back room that he never used....just for fun. (I of course no longer do this now) Eventually we got to talking some more, he gave me a tour of his land and what not. After his annoyingly drawn out tour, he literally transitions from "friendly dude bragging about his house" to "50 Shades of Grey! Let me show you my sex dungeon!" or well...backyard because all of his BDSM stuff was just laid out in his backyard and when I asked him why he just responded with "I want the neighbors to watch :)".
Also, keep in mind that BDSM (Which I have nothing against) was completely foreign to me at this time as well so I was looking at all of the equipment and devices legitimately thinking that this guy was trying to build something like a playground or something and just didn't know how. My dumbass was asking stupid questions like "Uh is that a cross? Do you crucify people in your backyard? ...Did I just join a cult?" So then the guy asks me if I knew about RLV. I told him yes just to make it look like I knew SOMETHING. (I did an immediate google search shortly after) He then told me to activate it and told me to get into a huge cage he had in the corner of his yard. I stupidly did as he said and went inside. When I asked him what the point of this way he just responded with ":) I'm going to bed now. I have to get up early tomorrow for work. If you have RLV enabled, you're locked in now and can only be let out by me. Goodnight.....Slave."
Me being the idiot that I was, I flipped my shit. Somehow I thought that I was literally locked in the cage FOR GOOD as in I couldn't leave, walk around or even log offline. I thought he had complete control over my account and everything. I started sending IM's to EVERYONE I knew, telling them that a strange man lured me into his weird playground and trapped me in a cage and took control of my account. I was saying my goodbyes, telling people that I loved them and everything. After that, I shit you not, I stayed in the cage ALL NIGHT waiting for him to come back. (I still went to sleep but I left my laptop on because I wasn't sure what to do) He came back at about 6:00 am and at this point, I was all pissed and panicky because I had to leave for work soon as well.
So he grumpily walks over to the cage with an attitude, clicks on the door to open it and goes "you never actually enabled RLV....you know you could've just left at any time, right?" And after that I just exploded in a fit of rage and embarrassment. I'm sure I spent a good minute or two just cursing at him non stop. And after that, I was like "You know what? Before you leave, you should pull a 'HA jokes on you' move so you won't look so stupid and then block him to make yourself look edgy!" So I walk up to him and say "HAHA SIKE! I ONLY PLAYED ALONG WITH ALL OF THIS BECAUSE I WAS PLANNING ON SQUATTING IN YOUR HOUSE!" And he was like "But I would've let you stay in my house...." So I just responded with. "oh......well uh......." Blocks the guy (out of embarrassment) and leaves
