Yes, you read right: A live virtual world musical featuring dancing avatars, with a story and water-borne stage inspired by the Kevin Costner movie*, from SL users based in Italy. I am constantly surprised by the variety of creativity in Second Life, but a musical adaption of a disastrous, widely-mocked 90s Hollywood movie produced by a troupe of Italian avatars is still pretty stunning. (To be fair, Waterworld's received some respective reconsideration lately).
The preparations for this show were long, also because the organizers wanted to create a unique structure that would adequately represent the story. So, the whole structure and the animations are customized, and it is specially designed for it (they did not use pre-packaged objects and animations, but everything is original and unique). A high commitment, but also great satisfaction and enthusiasm that shines through the organizers’ words themselves.
"It's an idea of Antartica Ferraris," friend to show Eliana Molteni tells me. "She realized other musical shows in SL inspired by more popular films, but she thought this could be scenic in SL." Antartica produces, with music and direction of the show by Van Loopen. Songs are in English, but because the team is from Italy, there will also be an introduction in Italian. Unfortunately I can't attend but if you do, please share pics and video in Comments!

* Yes I know Waterworld was directed by Kevin Reynolds, not Costner, but in this case the auteur theory can kiss my ass.
