Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
It is always fun to take a peek at the role-playing groups such as History Recreated. There you discover artists like Benoit de Montgelas whose photos show a strong effort to be historically accurate. I was drawn to this picture which is called “MdM Spring Collection” even though it clearly advertising his own creations by the cherry blossoms. They are opening here in Portland and the streets are brilliant with their blossoms along with the magnolias and camellias.
“When two become one” is intriguing because only at first glance do they seem to mirror each other, but more careful observation reveals a more dynamic picture. Part of this is by placing them off-center just enough to not be static. The room itself is not symmetric and there is a subtle asymmetry in their positioning and how they hold their hands.
“Magritte - The Hospital” shows the role-playing community has developed so far as to need a hospital, though at that time period, hospitals were even scarier places than they are today. It fascinates me to see the complexity and commitment of Second Life historical roleplayers.
While some of the pictures in Benoit de Montgelas’ photostream are vendor ads, the majority are lovely pictures of historical France before le deluge.
