Mιяιтι Aмεѕ’ “Love Sunshine” is a gorgeous feast of yellows and greens. She uses depth of field to concentrate our focus on the sunflower that is placed fairly close to the Golden Ratio. For me, the exuberance is what draws me in. This is a happy photo full of enthusiasm. After all, can’t you just see that flower reaching for the sun with all its might.
“Lost Shoes” delights me since how lost can they be by the doormat and a pair of boots? Again, depth of field is used to concentrate our attention. I love the high definition of the shoes that give them a suggestion of age and heavy use. My mind went to that moment when Proust was drinking his tea and dipped the madeleine in the tea and took a bite. The object evoked and entirely too long cascade of memories. I think these shoes have stories to tell.
So, “Hello, I am Vlekkie” just made me say awww! It’s so cute. I like the frame, the bit of degraded border and the desaturated tones. Most of all, though, it’s just so cute.
Mιяιтι Aмεѕ experiments and plays with filters and effects. I love to see artists trying new skills and she is, though, for me, I most love her simple studies of a single object. There is real beauty found in a closer look at everyday objects.
