Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Pepperoni only opened his account this past week at the urging of his owner, Paradox Ivory. With only 25 followers and three photos, it might be a tad early to sing his praises, but I have always been partial to cats. Pepperoni’s first photo is “Contemplation” and it sets the tone for his adventures in art and Flickr fame. He contemplates his kingdom with the arrogant confidence and entitlement that is the innate right of all cats.
In “Midnight Munchies” we get an exploration of light and color. I love the bold pops of red. You will note that Pepperoni shoots a lot of nighttime pictures which is to be expected of a beast who loves the night life. Cats see color less vibrantly than we do, but they need far less light, so they enjoy the night when their vision is almost a super power.
In “This isn’t Red Lobster” Pepperoni surveys his kingdom. There’s something of the feudal lord about the confident pose he holds, asserting his ownership over all he surveys. Again, light and shadow are starkly contrasted in a chiaroscuro world. I love how the light picks out details, not just the windows into other lives, but the curve of Pepperoni’s tail as well. Such drama!
Pepperoni deserves far more than 25 followers and his admirers need far more than three pictures. I hope to see growth on both sides in the future.
