YouTuber Luca, who's made some of the best viral Second Life machinimas in recent years, has a third life as a YouTube streamer of Space Engineers, a voxel-based sandbox game. (Watch above, as Luca builds a whole ass space ship during a downtime.) While the game worlds are decidedly different, Luca says many fans of the former might want to try out the latter:
"I'd say if anyone likes building and making stuff, they'd enjoy both Second Life and Space Engineers (if they like space building games, that is)," Luca says. "And the destruction aspect is just one of the very few things that (I really hate to say this) SL is not really that good at -- destruction and destruction physics." We definitely need more of both.
Many more videos on Luca's YouTube.
As Luca likes (bit of a fan) I took a look but
a) no free trial as far as I can see and more..
b) bloody steam, bloatware extraordinaire and I am not letting that POS loose on my box again. Six times bitten etc :)

@sirhc - I hate to break it to you pal, but nearly every game these days requires its' own launcher on PC, unless you're on GOG, where they let you just download games you buy directly from the browser (I did so with Duke Nukem 3D).
