Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Kat.E’s “Listen” is extraordinary. It is such a lifelike photo with that water texture. The sea and sky horizon is subtle and the pier functions as its own horizon–and is appropriately placed according to the rule of thirds. There is a bit of whimsy in the bollards on the pier, it’s not often you see statuary put to this use.
This untitled headshot shows how simplicity can be so powerful, She uses light and shadow to beautiful effect. The light is so bright part of her face is blown out, but then the shadow is so dark, leaving this band of exposed face, her freckles subtly visible. I saw this picture in someone’s Faves which is how I came to find Kat.E’s stream.
“Patience” reveals some humor and again shows her composition skills and applying the Rule of Thirds. The picture makes me laugh in part because the black and white dog waiting so patiently is such a contrast to my black and white cat who howls as though the world is ending–he can be heard in the other apartment building–when I go get the mail downstairs. If I took a picture it would be called “Impatience.”
There is not one bad picture in Kat.E’s photostream. It was impossible to choose, so I just picked three that were different from each other. In this short and new stream, she explores camera angles, light and color, and how to frame an excellent composition.
