Glorious news for fans of the Chouchou sims, the beloved, dreamy Second Life regions owned and created by Chouchou, the acclaimed Japanese music duo of the same name, After reports that the sims would be closed last Summer, the band and Linden Lab have reached an agreement to keep them in SL.
I wrote "sims" because that will include The Babel, the band's reactive music experience that hasn't been in Second Life since 2013. (See above.) "[It] will be back in Second Life thanks to Linden Lab's kind arrangements," Chouchou's spokesperson says.
Even better news: While other classic sims have been restored by Linden Lab, only to become non-interactive ghost towns, Chouchou tells me the band and its management will maintain a live presence in them:
"We will manage our sims just like before we participated in [Linden Lab's preservation program]," as they put it. "We will stream music and videos to the sims, do the maintenance if needed and handle troubles if there's a griefer or harassment." (The main sim has experienced both)." While there's no immediate plans for a live in-world show by the duo, "[w]e always add new music some time after its release, but only if the songs match the atmosphere of the sims."
That includes the band's upcoming album. More on that soon, but in the meantime, you can follow Chouchou on Facebook or on Twitter.
Thanks to LL i hope they can keep doing this.
