Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Roleplay is a vital element of Second Life. I wonder how many sims are devoted to roleplay? What would SL be without all those alternate worlds, the historical, the fantastical, the otherworldy sims of roleplayers? Kai Wirsing’s photos are mostly in roleplay outfits for his blog Blue, action shots such as this exciting one with a rocket launcher in a bright and colorful urban setting. I like how it is canted about 20°, adding a sense of action and movement, even though he is still.

There is something beautiful about this action photo. I love the color story, black, white, and red/orange. The composition employs the rule of thirds as well as two diagonal lines intersecting where the avatar crouches. He is framed by the leaves and the moon as well. All paths lead to him.
This photo is for one of SL’s men’s magazines, L’Homme. The sense of speed is accentuated by the blurring and the narrowing perspective. He focuses on blue and pink, keeping the color story simple. This is a great example of leading lines, bringing our eyes into the photo.
So, check out Kai Wirsing’s photostream. Not every picture is roleplay, some are just living life, but they are all intriguing and well-executed.
