Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
I love “Leaving New York” by Cecilia Nansen. The light leak overlaid over the black and white photo adds so much light and ambiance to this winter photo. With the trees, the sidewalk, and the buildings, we have three leading lines converging on a point in the distance. I love how the snowflakes are so much like the tree lights, it seems as though light is falling from the sky.
“Finding Kusama” takes inspiration from the real-life Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama who is known for using polka dots. Cecilia took five photos inspired by Kusama and you can find them all in this album. I love the joy in these photos which, if you read the description, is achieved despite personal challenges at the time.
“Won’t you wrap the night around me?” captures the central theme of her photos, exploring light and shadow. Many of her photos are subtly erotic and highlight and hide the body, or in this case, her face. Even her color photos tend toward duotone or tritone images that are very much an exploration of light.
There is so much to find in Cecilia Nansen’s photostream. Many of her photos are linked to a music inspiration that adds to their effect. While the subject may vary from photo to photo, there is a consistent theme of light and shade.
