Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
I was struck by how beautifully the avatars in Lotus’ photostream are posed. There is a natural grace to the poses. Of course the photos artfully display the poses to their best effect possible. It all becomes clear when I noticed vendor ads for Boo’d Up.oses where she is the model for most of the poses. Boo’d Up.oses is Fred Hamilton's, pose store. He was recently featured under his Flickr name Mr. Nobody. Getting back to the picture, I like how she uses her body as the frame of the shot. Bokeh is often used when the background is blurred and the illumination comes from the direction the camera is pointing. She put a bokeh layer over her image to create the effect.
My favorite has got to be “He Did Challenge Me” which has the Richard Avedon sensibility I love so much. Sometimes there is nothing more profound than a simple black and white photo without a single distracting element.
This untitled photo is so pensive and somber that it has a strong emotional pull. Her black sweater fades into the shadows so she seems almost disembodied, but not so much so that we are distracted from her expression and the way she holds her hands. One of the things I love about Bento is avatars now have use of one of the powerful ways humans express emotion. Evolutionary biologists speculate that we first developed language using our hands and then developed speech. Certainly, our hands reveal our emotions. With Bento we can be more authentically emotive.
I hope you check out Lotus’ photostream. She has a few lovely albums including one called “Introspective Journey” that has several photos that illustrate how beautifully hands convey emotion. She has a few galleries of photos by other people, collections of photos featuring favorite places in SL.

You do understand those aren't portraits, except the last one, right?
