Sunset Theas’ photostream is an exploratory journey of what you can do with WindLight and depth of field. The title of this shot, “they were on top, standing one in front the other, the moment before they realized there were no more floors to climb” is indicative of the way he works, integrating words with his pictures to create a deeper connection.
“Millions paper planes slowly sway in a dance” reminds me of those films where someone is standing in the desert and the shimmering sun makes them seem diffuse and barely there, as though we can see through them. I love how Sunset Theas uses light in this picture, the sun balanced by the two clutches of lights, creating an illusion of a parhelion.
This untitled work is a great example of how the depth of field feature can be used to create impressionistic pictures. WindLight is also important to the picture, bringing the sunlight and the gorgeous sky. There is an overlay that slightly distressing the picture, adding white dots and more light.
I enjoy Sunset Theas’ work. It is a deep exploration of light and how it can be used and manipulated with WindLight, filters, and overlays. His work is very impressionistic and emotional and definitely worth exploring more deeply.
