Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Lyack Glenwalker’s “Tomorrow” is an excellent example of how a high-contrast black and white with the brightest white and darkest shadows can create drama. The mood in this picture is lonely, a kind of thoughtful solitude that suggests someone facing a crossroads, but not one we can see, one that is over the edge. I love chiaroscuro anyway, but when it is so beautifully done it is magical.

The title is a bit of free verse “Idle, lost words, loose metaphors that a vague anguish chains to shadows, vestiges of better hours, lived I don't know where…” It is appropriate that it precedes the picture above. He is on his way to the crest of the hill, his mind occupied with swirling emotions that seem to come from everywhere. I love the blue mood, suggesting something less fateful than the black and white above, but still emotionally evocative.
In complete contrast there is this riot of color called “Maps” but the color comes from in-world at "The Mind Melter" by Thoth Jantzen and Lyack provides the SLURL. Jantzen describes it as a “visual psychoacoustic trip To Vegetal Planet.” However, I love how he uses the lighting from the elements in-world to highlight his face and the way it is cropped.
Lyack Glenwalker’s photostream is filled with exciting pictures with a strong point of view. I like the contrast between the duotones and the bolder color shots. Be sure to explore his stream, there are many gems to find.
