Cajsa's SL Flickr Pick: Doddy Delivers Striking Virtual Landscapes & Still Lifes

Doddy’s photostream is extraordinary, rich in striking landscapes and still lifes. “Simplicity and a Quiet Mind” struck me as particularly beautiful. She shot it at Kindred Spirits sim for a photo contest. I love its quiet simplicity even though I am practically repeating the title. I love how the metal spokes and the handles are about the same size. I like the repeating round shapes, the wheels, the urn, and the bottom of the vase.

“Frolicking Fowls” is such fun. I love the blur of the dandelion seeds. I love the rich colors in this picture as well.

I love the color story in “Frozen.” Blue makes a person feel cold in the first place. The blue and white duotone is downright chilly. If there were some lights on in the houses, there might be some warmth to look forward to, but this looks like someone is coming to a home that has sat empty for some time. There are no tracks or paths toward the house and outbuildings. The person who took this picture will have to start a fire and wait for it to heat up the home before they can even take off their coat. There is a snappy sound to wood that is frozen. Just walking across the floor, there is this loud snap, crack, snap. You want to sit quietly, waiting for the warmth so you don’t break anything.
