Kimmy Ridley’s picture is certainly timely and on point. It was inevitable that COVID-19 would penetrate the art world of Second Life as it has the world of arts in our first lives. This reminds me that with the many postponements and cancellations, the performing arts creatives are hard hit, particularly those who are not the highly-paid household names. Most are paid on contract meaning they do not qualify for unemployment and if their gig is postponed instead of cancelled, they don’t even get the cancellation fee. So keep your creative friends in mind and ask if they need help. I love the reminder to wash your hands.

This is just stunning. I love the colors and the cloudiness of the grass. I love the slight angle, it’s just a few bubbles off plumb. My favorite element, though, is the color story, the cream dress, yellow sky, and golden grass go so well together and the bit of bold russet hair and her name are a pop of contrast. There is also advice on self-care. And wash your hands.

Well, that’s one way of not touching your face. I love this! It’s witty and surprising. Seriously, such a simple idea, but like Andy Warhol’s soup cans,  it’s only simple after he thought of it. As with several of her pictures, Kelly offers a bit of advice or counseling. I also enjoy reading the quotes she selects for her pictures. 

Kimmy Ridley’s photostream is intriguing as she likes to try new ideas and new things. Most are pictures for her blog, but there are also occasional pieces that are more art-oriented like the one above. She seems to like to try new things, so describing her work is more difficult. One thing, though, it is all done well.
