Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Mich Michabo’s “One Can Try” captures the anxiety and uncertainty many of us are feeling in this new world of sheltering in place, staying at home, social distancing, and self-isolation. She created a series about COVID-19.
It really hit home for me when I discovered I myself have been exposed. It suddenly put this cold that I have been dealing with in a new light. My doctor thinks I am likely to have it, but I won’t get a test as I am not sick enough. Seeing her series made me stop in my tracks. That is what art is about.
Take a look at Mich’s other photos about experiencing the pandemic:
This untitled picture made me smile. Even when self-isolating, it is important to get some sun and fresh air. What connects this picture to the first is that the woman is on the other side in both pictures. On the outside looking in, and the inside looking out. This suggests alienation, alienation, being apart.
In “Prepared for COVID-19” Mich captures all the fear and panic that captured so many people. The panic buying and stocking up. There has been an uptick in toilet paper sales, even in Second Life.
I have always enjoyed Mich Michabo’s photostream. Her work is always intriguing, thoughtful, and original. Be sure to explore far beyond her COVID-19 work.
