Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
“Illusion” is a stunning self-portrait by Lana Meloure. This effect is usually achieved using a light leak overlay. That site is just one of many places you can download some free light leaks to use in your own photos or to add to your in-world projectors. Many browser-based editors such as Pixlr also have light leaks overlays as part of their editing options. This picture was inspired by “Illusion” by VNV Nation.
Here's another striking one from Lana:
“Ain’t Nobody” is inspired by Jasmine Thompson’s cover of “Ain’t Nobody” by Hawk Wolinski of Rufus and Chaka Khan. The words of the chorus have been cleverly incorporated into the picture in a curve around her body. I like the use of light and shadow and of depth of field in this picture. I love the addition of the text. I also like Jasmin Thompson’s cover but not nearly so much as the original but then I love funk.
“Falling All In You” is from the Shawn Mendes song. The title is incorporated into the photo but nearly hidden because it’s so tiny. What I love about this photo is how depth of field is used so the details in the shadow are sharp and detailed while the background is lit and blurred. I also like that it is desaturated, so the contrast between light and shadow is muted.
Lana Melour’s photostream is short, only twelve pictures. But they are all stunning and most of them are linked to songs on YouTube that most of you will enjoy.
