Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Today is the last day to vote in the #NoAvatarSocialDistance competition, I thought this would be a good time to highlight a few other additional pictures that people entered. Pictures that I like a lot even though they were not my top three. For example, Razor Cure’s “Contraptioners” is a fun gathering of nine people who are each and everyone compelling avatars with a noirish steampunk vibe. I love the bold, intense colors. They look like a fun bunch of folks to hang around with, don’t they?
After the cut, another great picture of RP avatars.

Ashley Carter’s Voidar is another compelling and bold picture of alternative, role-playing avatars who look ready for anything. If only they were on the Coronavirus Task Force.
Jae’s “Bubbly SL Animal Crossing” succeeds by bringing people together with a cheeky nod to the game that’s helping many people make it through the isolation of stay-at-home orders.
Then there is Harlow Heslop’s “School Squad” which gives us her ride-or-die friends who came as high school archetypes, the rebel, the girl next door, the grunge gal, the jock, and the rocker chick. I love the idea of capturing archetypes. They did a great job.
There are a lot of great pics in the #NoAvatarSocialDistance gallery. It was hard to choose and in the end, I went for the pictures that gave us glimpses of people living a second life as filled with other people as our first lives were before the pandemic. Seeing the reflections of normalcy in Second Life appealed to me.
