Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Goodcross’ photo “Quarantine” is a beautiful example of how by taking away an artist can add something magical to a picture. Here the range of colors is limited, but the contrast and intensity is powerful. The interior is all in shadow and forms a frame for the avatar who looks out on New York City. It was fun to see his inspiration and how his picture differs while drawing from the original.
More great photos below:
“Let me introduce...me” asks what if we made friends with ourselves. In addition to a wise message, it directs us to a sim that looks exciting to explore - a virtual Brooklyn. I like the way he uses the lines of the buildings to echo the lines of the avatar and the contrasting direction of the POWER LINES he seems to be sitting on. Don’t do that in real life.
“Breathe” is a stunning portrait. Again, by limiting his colors he makes a far more intense picture. The electric blue is wild and grabs my eye as I browse so I can’t look away.
Goodcross’s photostream is full of wonderful artwork. Some of the most beautiful pieces are digital work from Blender but his SL work is clearly identified by being put in SL groups. There are many stunning aesthetic nudes that are not done in SL but with 3D programs. It’s amazing and well worth viewing even if it is not specific to SL
