Click here to directly teleport to Stand Up for Justice, a month-long fundraiser open now and running until the end of the month, with all virtual content sales turned into real money donations to to Black Lives Matter, Black Visions Collective, Campaign Zero, the National Police Accountability Project, and a bail fund for jailed protesters nationwide.
At the moment, there's over 100 SL merchants are participating, including top brands like Apple Fall, Izzie's, Etham, ChiMia, LOFT, Jian, and Astara. Many more are still being added, co-organizer Barb tells me, so it's no surprise the place has been packed since it opened.
As for how all L$ sales to Stand Up for Justice will be donated, Barb explains their process to insure maximum transparency:
"We have created an avatar for the event, StandforJustice Resident, where all proceeds will be collected. when the fundraiser ends. The money will be cashed out of Second Life at the best rate possible at the time and donated equally to the charities we selected. We will update the site the on the total amount raised, and when it is donated we'll send out a breakdown of the donations with screenshots and receipts we plan to provide as much info as possible to maintain transparency about where funds are going."
Once again, here's the direct teleport.
jailed protesters? interesting, how many of them are innocent and how many were part of those vandalism acts and looting? Before donating - maybe ask these questions with open mind? If you think it's all black or white - don't be fooled, it's much more complicated.

@goose: My humble suggestion -> Switch off Foxnews!

I am making a list of all the shops participating in this and will boycott each of them. The people arrested committed a crime, destroyed property, or injured others. I refuse to support anything that pays bail for them to get out of jail free. The man who was murdered by the police officer was a career criminal. The cop is a criminal for murdering him. It is unfathomable to me that any corporation in the world would support criminals. What does that say about the Second Life Society? It tells me they are demented liberals who need an education about LAW AND ORDER.

Speaking of law and order and education about it... They are suspects and there will be trials where it will be determined then if they have committed crimes and are criminals.
So, at this time, neither the cop nor any protester is a criminal. They're all suspects and once the cases are brought to court, they're defendants.
For someone speaking of "law and order", this distinction should mean something.
Being arrested does not mean they are criminals. "Bail is the conditional release of a defendant with the promise to appear in court when required." Bail is a legal instrument.
Your apparent wish to deny the suspects/defendants in question to leave prison in a lawful way speaks of your education and character.
Please keep your money. Invest it in a book about the legal system maybe?

Exactly how is this fundraiser even helping black communities? 4 out of 5 of the charities listed (except for Black Visions Collective) advocate or demand some level of dismantling or destruction of law enforcement and government.
As @goose said, ask questions and actually look into what each of them really support on their own websites. Don't just assume from the name of the charity. I actually would have expected names more relevant like the National Urban League, United Negro College Fund or building (not bail) funds for black owned businesses like Valentine Deli Corp and others who lost everything to rioting.
@stephen bail might be a legal instrument, but it does give a green light for some to go commit another crime. Just as you assumed some of those arrested aren't criminals, there are also those that are! Assume you donate to the bail fund and it releases someone who goes and destroys property again or take someone's life. Who shares responsibility? Are you ok having that on your conscience?
I am a black American and I can't support this too for the reasons above. @Wagner, have been reading your blog for a long time and you usually stick to just informing readers, so would suggest adding a disclaimer to your post clarifying if you do or don't support the fundraiser before people begin to assume other things.

I personally support the essential goals of Black Lives Matter, Black Visions Collective, Campaign Zero, the National Police Accountability Project, and a bail fund for protesters. Campaign Zero in particular resonates very powerfully to me, because they propose very concrete, practical, actionable steps to reduce unjust killing of civilians by police, historically by 72%, known as 8 Can't Wait:

So sad that you have white nationalist coming to your website to spew dog whistles, false facts and even telling you to post disclaimers on your own site.
These are the same sort of people who pushed the "Chinese virus" narrative and support police brutality and the threatening and shooting of unarmed Americans based on the color of their skin. Covid19 and the current state of the world have made a perfect storm for this and it's not going away and won't be stopped.

what many of you do not see is that Wagner deletes posts. They are there one minute and gone the next. That is his choice; it is his blog but just know that this is not a free speech section. It has a moderator and that moderator deletes posts.

Is the government of the United States deleting posts, Gunner? If not, it's not an infringement of your free speech to have rude comments purged.
The White Whine is particularly pungent today. . .
