Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Venicio Armin’s untitled still life is a warm, inviting revelation of light and form. I love how the golden light picks out the weave of the basket, bringing it into high relief. Meanwhile. The chair and the wall fade away in shadow. The folds of the tablecloth, the patina on the pitcher are featured as are the golden apples. Somehow this picture even makes Golden Delicious look appetizing. This is a beautiful example of the power of lighting to create drama.
Even more pics that show Venicio’s eye for the small details.
This untitled picture shows a toy lighthouse, broken and fallen. I love the rich colors, the bold reds, bright whites, and the deep greens. I love the way what could be just a bit of flotsam in a landscape takes center stage. A small detail becoming the main event shows us the beauty in the small and even the broken things.
This picture of flamingos is a great example of how repetition, the same or similar objects repeated, again and again, create a kind of dynamic intensity. I like how he desaturates the coloring, the background fading away to soft grays while the pelicans stand there in their finery.
Venicio Armin’s photostream is a mixture of slice-of-life photos, landscapes, and fine art photos such as “Who Are You?” and “Goodbye”. There is great variety because Venicio has not been content to find a successful technique and stick with it. He is constantly experimenting, trying new things, playing with light, color, and composition. It makes for a fun photostream to follow.
