Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
With Yeya Zuta, I almost feel as though I have found the Magritte of Second Life. Their love of the absurd is enlivened with the kind of wit one would expect of the great surrealist. Like Magritte, the lighting is matter-of-fact, the focus being the absurdity that is intended to provoke our thought and attention.
More thought-provoking images below.
This is almost an anti-photo of a pool, isn’t it? We always see pools from above, this below the surface picture is a delightful change, especially as we must try to understand what disturbs the surface
This is the picture that first caught my attention. It is both beautiful and tragic. The light shines on the water, reflecting like a jewel in places and there lies the fish, captured in the moment its fate is determined, will it be rescued by the next wave or has the water receded too much. It lingers at the edge of doom, awash in sunlight.
Yeya Zuta only has twelve photos, but they are wonderful. They all feature The Coasters Club, an installation I am definitely doing to have to check out.
