Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Rita Glad’s pictures show the same joie de vivre as this delightful astronaut among sunflowers. “I would love to live in Maud Lewis’ paintings” is a whimsical homage to the Canadian folk artist whose beautiful paintings of birds, animals, and flowers showed a spirit that was not brought down by her constant struggle with pain and poverty.
Our astronaut has an adventure below...
It all began when her astronaut landed in Walsh County. She started to explore and see what the world had for her there. The adventure continues up to her most recent photo. In fact, perhaps the adventure is not yet over. She chronicles the people she meets and the sights she sees with her photos. I am in love with this project.
I also love Rita’s titles with references that reveal a well-read and active intellect along with her wit and whimsy. I had no idea Michael Faraday invented the balloon. Well done, Mr. Faraday. Without you, greased water balloon football might never have existed and then where would we be.
Rita Glad’s photostream is pure delight. Not all is as whimsical as her Ballooned Avatar series. Some can be quite grim. But no matter what the subject, she approaches it with imagination and creativity.
