Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
The third Lawrence D. Pryce Macabre Halloween Challenge began at the end of September and is still open until the end of October -- here’s details for submitting your entry. The challenge begins with a selection of inspirations from real life photos shown here or in a larger size here on Pinterest.
The gallery of submissions so far is appropriately grotesque, macabre, and horrific. To scare yourself silly, just go to the official Flickr page. This entry from Jasmine Albright is striking and has a humanity to it that I like.
Okay, some more selected scary stuff ahead...
“You Frighten Me” is from Ghoulina Waffle. I actually like spiders. I don’t kill them. I don’t even move them outside. They eat bugs, I love that. But this arachnid makes me think of a crab and those things give me the shivers.
This seems almost like a macabre “American Gothic” taken indoors. Striking, simple, and incredibly intriguing.
OK, I zoomed in to look more closely to see what that was atop her head. That’s it for me for today! Theda Tammas scared me. There are 121 photos in the gallery so far and the challenge continues to October 31st. Head on over and browse as far as you can stand it.
