Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Uma Fae Dust‘s picture is called “Open Spaces” but it really makes me think of the Reata Ranch outside Marfa, Texas and the fabulous, ahead-of-it-time movie, Giant. I love the stark isolation of the house without a tree to soften its alienation from the environment. It’s just plopped down, so out of place, that it stands on the line between ludicrous and beautiful, not committing to either.
Up next, a picture to make you smile:
“Nice Day” makes me smile. I love the woman riding her bike. She makes me think of Mary Poppins even though her clothing is a generation or two earlier than Poppins. Still she seems like some lovely governess bringing treats and balloons for a party. Meanwhile, a prairie dog pops up for a look around.
“Joy Ride” is a real joy. That’s a cow on that little tractor. Hilarious!
Uma Fae Dust is the founder of Second Life Traveler, a Flickr group with nearly 1500 people sharing pictures of Second Life sims. She loves the SL environment and explores sims, immersing herself in them which produces wonderful pictures and a loving guide to our world.
