Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
“Smooth Tides” is the first picture by this Second Life landscape photographer that I saw and I was entranced. It really is Second Life. She provides a SLURL. The detail is so fine you can see each rock. Often you will see a road leading your eyes, but in this case the water leads your eyes.
MacKenna has a love of winter and it shows...
“Come Walk With Me” makes cold weather look inviting. Just don’t walk on the water. Again she uses the water to lead your eyes into the picture toward the house. I love the color story and subtlety of the lights.
In “Chase Ambiance Hideaway” I love how she used Queen Anne’s Lace to frame the picture. I have a soft spot for Queen Anne’s Lace as I used to forage. It’s also called wild carrot and if harvested early before it gets woody, it’s delicious. However, fair warning. It resembles two other plants and confusion can be deadly. One is yarrow, a great medicinal plant, but the other is poison hemlock, the poison that killed Socrates. To me, they look nothing alike, but my mom and my sister both took me foraging while I was a child. Here’s a guide if you get a hankering for wild carrot in the spring.
MacKenna Soothsayer’s stream is a mix of landscapes and personal photos. I am particularly drawn to her landscapes. She has an great understanding of light and color.
