Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
Suzen Juel’s photostream is full of pictures she has taken at Second Life art installations. Some of the time she interacts with the installation as in “Bridge,” the picture above from Cica Ghost’s installation. I asked her for her favorite photo and she chose this one, explaining, “I LOVE Cica Ghosts work and had a chance to visit her sim. The lighting was already bright and warm so this one wasn't as complex as I can get with some.”
I love that she chose this one with her playing music as Suzen Juel is also known as Juel Resistance, the musician who performs live music in Second Life. She also has some of her own art in SL that she calls Inkies. You can check out her SL and RL art on her website.
Suzen explains what tools she uses to edit after the break.

“I use PicMonkey to edit SL photos and 'sometimes' I put them through another program 'Clip Studio Pro', but not too often. In PicMonkey there is a wonderful Texture Tab that can add warm gradients that can be set to a very chilled and low key vibe. I also find that using various textures and colors help a lot. I didn't plan my look before going, but I also know Cica's art installs can have stark colors that work wonderfully together. I love contrast, shadow and texture and this one seems to work well with that concept.”
She takes many pictures of SL art installations, but she doesn’t just snap a picture. She works with the WindLight or the new EEP and with angles and framing to make the picture of art artful in itself. She uses the Firestorm Viewer. She adds that she seldom uses the SL viewer. She’s just taken on the new EEP WindLight “which for photographers and artists is a BIG WELCOME.” She said it was not difficult to figure out and also allows people to sell their own settings on Marketplace.
Check out Suzen Juel’s. I am sure it will send you to more than one place to check out their art.
