Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
For my end-of-the-year rundown of favorite blogs, I want to feature those that don’t fit into my usual fashion and decor blog highlights. “Through Owl’s Eyes” by Owl Dragonash is a blog that focuses on Second Life arts and culture. She has her own art gallery which she promotes, but also promotes the work of other people and other blogs. It is the blog of a generous person whose goal is to amplify other people’s efforts.
More fabulous posts ahead.
Milena Carbon’s blog on Medium is full of stories. Some link to Flickr where people are invited to see the story while on Flickr people are invited to read the story. Her pictures and her stories are fascinating and worth hours of exploration.
I already featured Inara Pey’s “In a Modem World” earlier this year. I want to mention it again because it truly is my go-to for answers. She has this authoritative way of explaining how to do this, that, or the other thing in SL. Her explanations usually have more clarity than Linden Lab directions.
This last blog has no pictures other than the ones conjured up by the author’s words. Betwixt Epsilon’s blog is called SL Fiction and there he writes short vignettes inspired by Second Life. I particularly like Sim Stories as I connect them to places I have been. He also has a fascination for rain for which I cannot blame him one bit. It is a wonderful thing. His writing is spare and simple, which is the hardest writing to do. Conjuring up entire stories in just a few words as he does in this poem is much harder than going on and on and on.
Second Life is richer than just dressing up and decorating and these blogs remind us of the richness of our shared metaverse.
