Cajsa Lilliehook covers the best in virtual world screenshot art and digital painting
I just discovered 🌸’s photostream and fell in love with her pictures. Before I get into them, though, can I just say I really dislike this new trend in pictograph or other non-name naming on Flickr. I really have no idea who 🌸 is and that makes me sad. But back to the picture. At first glance I thought this was a striking abstract without even perceiving the avatar, but with a closer look, I loved it even more. It makes me think of Dominique De Menil who argues that our minds are so cluttered with images that only abstraction can bring us “to the threshold of the divine.” She said something else that might make sense with this picture, too. “Perhaps only silence and love do justice to a great work of art.”
More fabulous portraits ahead.
“Traveling without moving is a very impressionistic picture of an avatar. She links a music video for each of her pictures that represent her mood when doing the picture. This one was Jimi Hendrix’ “Voodoo Child.” It is funny how people experience pictures so differently. I get a more “Peaceful Easy Feeling” mood.
This untitled picture seems so haunting to me. Her avatar seems adamantine, forged through suffering into someone powerful and determined. Her mood video is Glorious by Macklemore with this chorus.
I feel glorious, glorious
Got a chance to start again
I was born for this, born for this
It's who I am, how could I forget?
I made it through the darkest part of the night
And now I see the sunrise
Now I feel glorious, glorious
I feel glorious, glorious
It didn’t make sense at first, but when I think about the lines about making it through the darkest part of night and seeing the sunrise, there is something glorious about that.
🌸’s photostream is wonderful. I could spend hours looking at her pictures and so could you.
